Clockwork Camera Obscura
Tether the dirigible and wench up your corset, because this is a night you won’t want to miss. The Crack Fox, home to so many good geek events, will be taken over for a night of Steampunk themed costumed shenanigans. Three DJ’s will spin retro futuristic tunes, Ami Amore and her Exotic Rhythyms bellydance troupe will shimmy across the dance floor, and you can peruse the Steampunk photos of Insomniac Studios.
Costumes aren’t required, but really, isn’t life more fun when you have an excuse to dress up? The cover charge is $8. Bring a little extra to shop the vending tables and buy a couple drinks.
Literary Nudes – Harry Potter Edition
Sugar Cyanide, Penny Dreadful and Clark Conners bare all while posing as inhabitants of Hogwarts. Bring your sketchpads for a night of literary nudes at Shameless Grounds. Admission is $6.
If you’re familiar with Free Comic Book Day, you already know what Free RPG Day is all about. To keep things interesting, The Fantasy Shop in St. Charles is also hosting a used game auction where you can offload games you’ve played to death and pick up something new at bargain prices. Everybody wins.
Circus Flora: Vagabond Edition
If the Beggar’s Carnivale has taught us anything, it’s the geeks love a variety show. This one has a little less burlesque and a little more acrobatics. Unlike Beggars Carnivale, you can take your kids, and unlike the Shriners Circus, you’ll leave without feeling like you need to rinse the Disneyesque sugar stains from your soul. Tickets start at $10.50. For those of you who prefer your circus a little more salacious, Beggar’s Carnivale will be back next weekend.
June Game Day by Black Pigeon Press
Black Pigeon Press is hosting what appears to be a tabletop RPG game day at the Butler Hill Holiday Inn. I’ve never attended and there’s very little information about it. I’ll be honest, the Fantasy Shop’s bi-montly game day blew me away as both a great time and a great value for only $15. I’m curious what Black Pigeon Press offers for $20. If anyone knows more, share with the class.
Gatekeepers Roller Derby
The Gatekeepers prove boys can be just as brutal on the flat track as girls. Watch our very own nationally top ranked team battle it out in one of the most brutally geeky sports.

Wow. I’m so glad I came across this website on Google! Thanks for these posts of the weekend’s events. I’m actually moving to St. Louis THIS weekend! You’re awesome. Please keep this up!
