People say you can never go home again, but I decided to visit my old apartment since I’m already in Kansas City for ConQuest. This isn’t the first time I’ve tried dating via online personal ads. I first tried it long ago – when we rode saddled dinosaurs to school, accessed the internet via dialup, and still believed man would someday go back into space – in a time otherwise known as “The 1990’s.” In those dark days uploading highly pixilized digital photos was a rare phenomenon. Saturday night I decided to bravely attempt solid foods other than plain white rice or saltine crackers. I was bold. I was daring. I was going to eat a brownie.
