Louisville has a downright unfair number of excellent restaurants. This means on weekends, even if you’re at a chain restaurant, you’re facing at least a 45 minute wait. Oh, sweet boozy freedom! Seventy five years ago today, the US government decided to stop watching people die from rampant gang violence and wasting police and prison resources on bootleggers. They also let the rest of us enjoy a drink guilt free. Here in Louisville, we have an incredible weath of options for celebrating Repeal Day. I love girly drinks. That’s a good thing, because somehow, I’ve picked up the alcohol beat over at FoodVu. I’m not complaining. You can’t beat the research. Friendly Drinkers

Yesterday, I spent a couple hours on the phone talking to people at Wild Turkey, Jim Beam, Woodford Reserve, and Four Roses. If you’re not a bourbon drinker, those names probably don’t mean much. If you are, then you know there are perks to living in Kentucky. I wish I could say Woodford Reserve begged me to design a kick ass display for the upcoming Bourbon Festival in September. Alas. However, all four P.R. Managers were genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. That’s not something I can say about most international companies.
